	2009 La Salina Invitational Volleyball Tournament & Beach Party August 21 - 22

The La Salina Invitational is a fun volleyball tournament on the beach in Baja with under a Full Moon with bands, Margaritas, Corona on Tap, camping, t-shirts, fishing, surfing, horseback riding and lots of good times.

Bathrooms
There will be porta potties and a washing station on the beach for those who don't want to make the walk up to the cantina. There are 4 bathrooms on the south side of the cantina and a men's and women's room inside. We hire one guy just to keep the bathrooms and patio clean. It worked really well last year.

Showers
There is an outside shower.

Parking
Those without 4WD vehicles can park in the cantina parking lot.

Security
We've figured out that the money we pay local officals and police basically just keeps them from bothering us. We will have private security covering the parking lot from Thursday to Sunday and on the beach Friday and Saturday nights. It worked well last year and we didn't have any incidents.

Food
A Mexican breakfast and lunch will be available on Saturday for $5 a plate. You will want to bring food to supplement, don't forget about late night munchies on Friday and Saturday night. Bring lots of water.

Camping Equipment
You'll need a tent, sleeping bag, beach chair, suntan lotion, firewood, shade, flashlight, water and anything else you would normally need when you camp. The party is in August so it won't be getting very cold at night.

Rules

No tweakers.
No loud music. Camp site parties go on for hours after the band stops but not everyone wants to stay up all night.
No fireworks after 1AM. See above.
No mortar fireworks in camp.
No racing or drinking and driving on the beach. You will be arrested and you will never see your vehicle again.
4WD vehicles can drive on and off the beach to set up camp and drop off supplies. If you would like to park your vehicles at your campsite, please set up camp north of the community.
No glass on the beach.
No littering. Please bag all of your trash and put the bag in or next to the parking lot dumpster at the end of the weekend.
Don't be an ass. Everyone is there to have fun. If you're causing problems you will be removed from the event and you will not receive a refund.
Be respectful to the community and other people at the party.
Almost all laws that exist in the US exist in Mexico. Don't think you can get way with something because you're in Mexico.

We get a permit and pay the local government a lot of $ to allow us to use the beach for the weekend. The permit grants us full control of the beach and we have the authority to ban anybody from the beach, cantina or surrounding area. In addition to the police we employ several security guards to ensure that everybody has a good time. General rule - don't be a dick or you will be removed from the event. If you resist you will be in violation of the permit and will be arrested. If this sounds like a problem for you, you are not welcome. No refunds will be given.
